The St George Generals opened the weekend with a pair of thrilling victories scoring late in both contests to force OT, winning 5.4 in game 1 with a goal by Cole Holland against Six Nations, and 3.2 in shootout that went six shooters against Mariposa with Reuben Brokkering netting the winner while goalie Pierce Waigh made a miraculous sprawling stick save after being beaten on a deke.  Day two the team beat Lambton Shores 4.2 to secure first place in the tournament and a spot in the championship.  It lost a later preliminary round game 6.2 to a very strong Howard Huskies USA team.

The finals pitted the Generals against Six Nations again, and going into the third it was 1-1.  Ultimately Six Nations scored the game winner with less than three minutes, and while the boys pressed hard with the goalie pulled it was not to be.

It was an excellent weekend of hockey and sportsmanship and a first class event by the organizers and volunteers of the International Silverstick in Forest, Ontario.  Tournament First Team Allstar honours went to Brandon Cripps (Forward) and Ethan Hawkins (Defensemen).  The white International FINALIST Banner will be hanging soon in our arena - a record sixth Silverstick banner for this age group.
