March Update
The birds are singing, the days are brigther and the draw to be outdoors is strong - this hockey season is almost over.  But before that happens, there is still quite a bit of cheering to be done in St. George.

The Atom, Bantam and Midget LL teams advance to the Grand River LL finals, the Peewee Rep are looking forward to the Southern Counties Semi-Finals, the Minor Novice and Midgets are away participating in tournaments next week, the Novice Rep are participating in the first ever final days tournament and we are hosting the Evan Leversage Memorial tournament Mar 28-29 for Novice and Atom LL teams.

Go Generals GO!

Amongst all of this excitement the Executive and coaching staff are working on age group specific Year End Celebration events and information will be coming out shortly as to the specific details once finalized.

As the season begins to winddown, thoughts of next year are also beginning and below are a few notes for families:

·         Coaches:  Coaching applications are currently open for all coaching positions within SGMH (Rep & LL) with a final deadline of April 1st for submissions.  Once all of the applications are received the Coaching Selection team will review the applications and make selections based on application information, feedback from families collected throughout the year (if returning coaches) and interviews, as necessary.

·         AAA/A Tryouts:SGMH encourages any of our players that are interested in playing AAA/A to attend tryouts.  Brantford will be hosting tryouts in April/May – see below for registration specific information.

·         Registration for 2020/2021 Season:Registration for the 2020/2021 season will be opened on April 1st.  As an association, we encourage families to register, as soon as they can.  This will allow for payment plans to be set up for anyone who needs that support and to help the Association determine the number and types of teams.

·         Novice/Atom Program Changes: Program plans have just been finalized at the Hockey Canada Level and documentation is starting to flow to all associations – see March 10th bulletin here - association specific details and plans are still to be developed.  Please reach out to Dan or myself if you have any questions.

·         AGM:The 2019/2020 Annual General Meeting is scheduled for May 11th, 7:00PM.  During this meeting a review of the association’s activities, financials and plans for next year will be presented – all are welcome.  If you are interested in participating in the association outside of a team please reach out to an Executive member.

It has been a great season!
