May Update
Hello Hockey Families,

I hope all of you are enjoying this extra time together and finding creative ways to keep sports and fitness in your lives.

Uncertainty around where we are going is all around us and that includes Minor Hockey.  At this point, the plan is still to start up in August/September, providing permission and guidelines as outlined by the Province of Ontario.  The OHMA has deferred its Annual Meeting until August and SGMH has decided to hold off on ours until a time that we can all be together.  To support this the Executive from the 2019/20 season has agreed to continue with their current positions for an additional year to ensure that we maintain stability throughout the organization.

As a sign of hope, we are opening registration for the fall.  Hockey is a key part of our lives and regardless of what changes may be implemented to allow us to play, we would all like to be ready to go when that has been determined.  Online registration is holding a place for your child to play and complete payment is not required until September 1st.

Fees have been left the same as last year with the hope that we will be able to offer the same program.  If start date, durations or amount of ice time is limited by the COVID-19 virus or new guidelines, a review of the fees will be conducted and refunds will be issued.  We understand that everyone’s financial situation has changed in the last few months, if you require any sort of accommodation please reach out to Jen Koops to discuss payment options.

Coaching applications have been left open until May 8th.  If you are interested in helping your child’s team in any capacity please fill one out so that we are able to ensure that we have enough volunteers and the appropriate training has been completed when the time comes to start.

We have added a new feature to our website to help address questions that arise - FAQ.  Please continue to ask questions and we will continue to add to the list.

Thank you for all your support
